ALMA VISTA GUEST COMMENTS
Casa Alma Vista is located in Isabel Segunda, in the Bravos de Boston neighborhood (named the garden district because of its many flowers shrubs and fruit trees).   In the evening, with the smell of jasmine in the air, it's a lovely walk (10-15 minutes) to downtown Isabel Segundo to wander around the plaza, visit a pub, or dine at one of the restaurants. The lighthouse is a short walk toward the village, as is Siddhia Hutchinson's art gallery.

Here are some comments from our guest book:

“What a week, what a view, what an island!  We swam early every morning at the Lanchita beach, just down the hill. Good snorkeling toward the right hand side, lots of fish and usually clear.  Also good snorkeling at Mosquito Pier and under the wharf in Esperanza.  Had a great time at Chez Shack on Monday night grill night with a local steel band and dancing.   We hit a different beach most afternoons, from  little Secret beach to gorgeous Sombe to Green (great shelling) and everything in between.  Alma Vista was perfect for our group and really added to the success of the vacation – we will be back! Muchos gracias!”

“We had a wonderful time at this lovely secluded house. There can’t be a more beautiful  view anywhere. We appreciated the workable kitchen and made many feasts. We tried the restaurants (Coconuts was good) but nothing could beat dining on the terrace! Michael, 6, spent hours chasing lizards and we loved the resident iguanas. Mangoes from the tree for breakfast!”

“This is our 6th visit to Alma Vista by our group of six.  We love breakfasts on the deck, watching the ferries and the fishermen. The house feels like a loan from friends –good beds, reference books, paintings by local artists, beach hats, beach chairs and cooler, well-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer.  The best restaurant on the island is El Quenepo – not cheap but worth every penny. We like sundowners at Al’s Mar Azul near the ferry dock. And the Biobay is an amazing experience that you should not miss- we’ve gone out with both Island Adventures (in electric boats) and Abe’s kayaking.  Island Adventures has the best interpretation and guides   - you can swim with both.  We highly recommend Ingrid Bergman for massages, and she comes to the house. “

“This was our first visit to Vieques and Alma Vista and we loved the house. Beautiful location, relaxing environment, and the views, just extraordinary!  Just the two of us, on a well-needed work break (although we did use the wifi while sunning!).   We spent a lot of time just lazing on the patio but we did venture out to some great beaches. Blue (Cheva) was our favorite overall, for shade, seclusion and snorkeling. Great shelling on the beach down the hill to the right , entry by Los Cocos and the green house with cement fence.  Biobay was fantastic and learning about the mangroves and the whole ecosystem is very interesting. We liked the local people, especially when they trotted by on a horse!”
